Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom tailer out: Amber Heard’s Role Shrouded in Mystery

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom

After a long five-year wait, “Aquaman” is making a splash back into theaters, and Warner Bros. has unveiled the first trailer for “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom,” signaling the return of Jason Momoa as the aquatic DC hero.

Returning alongside Momoa are cast members Amber Heard, Nicole Kidman, Willem Dafoe, Temuera Morrison, and Dolph Lundgren, among others.

The sequel will also introduce new faces, including Randall Park, Vincent Regan, Indya Moore, and Pilou Asbæk. James Wan is back in the director’s chair, with David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick penning the script.

Warner Bros. shared the trailer on their Instagram handle, announcing the film’s release on December 20.

The screenplay for “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom” is written by David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick, based on a story by James Wan, David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick, Jason Momoa, and Thomas Pa’a Sibbett.

The movie draws inspiration from the DC character Aquaman, created by Paul Norris and Mort Weisinger.

Interestingly, Amber Heard’s presence in the trailer is notably limited. She plays the role of Mera, Jason Momoa’s love interest, in the DC cinematic universe.

Heard had previously mentioned during her defamation trial with Johnny Depp that her role in the sequel had been reduced, and scenes involving her character were altered.

Despite this, fans of Aquaman can look forward to the film’s release on December 20, promising an exciting return to the underwater world of Atlantis.
