Finding Zen in Chaos: The Art of Balanced Living

Balanced Living

We are born, we work to make our life comfortable and then we die. This is what life is.

Some people think that success, fame and money is what all matter in life. On the contrary, some believe in enjoying life to the fullest even on the cost of fame, career and money.

So what do you think is right? Which path do you want to take? Are you confused and feel like that your answer should be binary, a yes or no, choosing one or the other?

Well you are not alone many of us feel the same way everyday even about the smallest of things like to binge watch that show or not?

Should i spend money on fast food or not?

Do i need to take a break and not study at all.

The society has led us to believe that we need to make black and white decisions but that not the only option. You can always choose something in between; something with balanced living.

Analyze all situations

Whenever you are in a situation where you feel the answer is a yes or no , take a deep breath and relax.

Try to think about the situation from start and see if there is some alternative approach to that situation.

When you try to think about a different perspective then the chances are high that you will be able to see new things and will be able to find the balance.

Many a times we are stuck in a loop and don’t know where to start at that instance what you can do is just start where you are at.

For example if you have a lot of pending work and you also have to submit new work tomorrow which has lead to a complete breakdown you can just start with what your are given with.

Do the assignment which comes to your mind first and then while working the priorities of the given work will themselves be clear to you.

Make a Pros and Cons List

Life is not always black and white. Some things are good some things are bad and some things are in between gray and that is where we get confused.

Some things require you to really sit and think about them.

Sometimes, we may be into something, that makes us feel an emotion at extremes; be it happiness or sadness.

Some things might make us feel like everything is in our control, and other situations might make you feel totally worthless and make you want to quit.

This is where making a pros and cons list about any person, place or situation comes into the picture.

Making a list makes you actively think instead of you just riding the wave of emotions. This will provide you with much needed clarity about any situation and will help you make the best and balanced living decision.

Take Care of Your Mental & Physical Health.

A human body is capable of many different feats. But every feat doesn’t require 100% of all your capabilities.

Lifting a heavy bag requires more of your muscular strength than your mental strength and the case is opposite for solving a maths problem.

But if we really look at it, both of the said situations require us to be in physical and mental harmony.

A lot of people in today’s day and age tend to focus only on their mental abilities while letting their physical health decline.

As humans, we need to take care of and balance all the aspects of our health, in order to truly function at our maximum potential.

Focus on Today

How often do you find yourself swinging from regretting something that you did in the past to getting anxious about what might happen in the future?

Well, that happens to the best of us. Constantly swinging between the past and the future is the imbalance that has plagues every adult.

And unfortunately, there is no remedy. The past cannot be changed, and the future cannot be known.

But good news for you, there IS a middle ground to this, and that is called, “Today” or “The Present.”

The present moment lies in the middle of the past and the future, and it the only moment you can have any sort of control over. The balance between regretting the past and getting anxious about the future is ‘Making the Most out of The Present’

Learn to Say ‘No’

A lot of the imbalance in our lives stems from our need to not upset anyone; at the cost of our own mental health.

We do the things we can’t or simply don’t want to do, but end up doing because someone close to us has told us to do so.

Well, if that happens seldom, it is no big deal, but when we fail to stop people from taking advantage of us, that is when imbalance starts to set in in our lives.

We fear offending others, while we fail to realize how important it is prioritize ourselves. Saying ‘No’ to something that you do not want to do does not make you a bad person.

It makes you a self respecting individual, who can balance his/her life, and help others out in the future.
