It is a well known fact that food is the source of our energy. The food that we eat provides us with the nutrients essential for us to function properly. Since food is one of the most important aspects of our day to day functioning, it is essential to know what you are putting in your body, in order to have the best physical and mental conditions possible.

1. Diet is the King

The people who workout for athletic competitions or just to maintain a good physique can testify to the fact that it’s 30% training and 70% diet.

This means that it doesn’t matter how hard you train; if your diet is not on point, the desired results will never be achieved. It is very important to have a diet that provides you with carbohydrates, fats, proteins, vitamins and minerals.

The quantity of food consumed is also meant to be monitored and regulated for the best results.

2. Food for Brain

What you eat doesn’t only affect your physical conditions but also your mental health and mood. People who eat a balanced diet not only perform well in tasks that require mental clarity and skills but also feel much better emotionally in contrast to the people who have an unorganized diet. They have a better overall mood and a better focus.

3. Food for Sleep

What you eat, when you eat and how much you eat is a major factor in determining the quality of sleep you will have. It is scientifically recommended to have a heavy breakfast, a moderate lunch and a light dinner. This is recommended because Breakfast is the meal taken after a long interval from the last meal.

The body has exhausted it’s energy resources and breakfast is meant to replenish those. Lunch is supposed to be moderate as it is a meal that doesn’t have to replenish a lot of energy, but just enough to carry out the activities of the remaining day.

Dinner is recommended to be light, as after eating, the blood circulation is towards the stomach in order to digest the food. This may lead to problems in sleeping.

The better you sleep, the better you feel and the better you perform.

4. Food for Fun

A lot of people completely give up on eating certain types of food. Some people give up sugar, carbohydrates, fats as in their minds, these are “bad” for health. But all of these are necessary and should be the part of a balanced diet.

Excess of anything is harmful, but all the nutrients are necessary for us to a certain amount. It is essential to have a balance i.e. allowing oneself to have junk food, but in moderation and balancing it out with healthy diet and proper workout.

Remember, you DO NOT have to kill yourself but just eating tasteless foods. As important as it is to eat healthy, it is equally as important to stimulate your taste buds and cravings every once in a while.

5. Food for You

There are Billions of people in this world, and not everything is for everyone. A lot of people have to avoid certain foods due to allergy issues, medical and physiological conditions. But that doesn’t necessarily mean it will hamper your life forever.
