Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner, who have been married for four years, are rumored to be heading toward divorce. Sources close to the couple have disclosed that they’ve been facing “serious issues” for approximately six months.
This revelation has taken many by surprise, given their public appearances and mutual support, including Sophie attending Joe’s recent concerts.
According to TMZ, Joe has been seeking guidance from divorce attorneys in Los Angeles, hinting at a potential end to his marriage with Sophie.
This news is unexpected for most, as the two have frequently been seen together at public events and have shown significant support for each other.
Sophie was also an integral part of Joe Jonas’ promotional team during the Jonas Brothers’ tours.
Their love story began when the Game of Thrones actress and Jonas Brothers musician initially connected through Instagram DMs in 2016.
Turner shared, “We had a lot of mutual friends, and they’d been trying to introduce us for a long time. We were following each other on Instagram, and he direct-messaged me one fine day, out of the blue.“
After connecting on Instagram, Jonas invited Turner to hang out while his tour was in the U.K. Her friends thought it would be amusing, so she agreed.
They decided to meet at a bar, and to ensure her safety, Turner brought along her “rugby boys.”
She half-expected Jonas to “show up with security,” but she was pleasantly surprised when he arrived with a friend.
In 2017, Jonas proposed, and they shared the joyous news on Instagram with a photo of Turner’s hand displaying her engagement ring. Jonas captioned the image, “She said yes,” and Turner responded with, “I said yes.“
Their engagement received warm wishes from their famous friends and family. The couple exchanged vows in a surprise ceremony in Las Vegas and later celebrated with a lavish event in the French countryside.
TMZ was the first to report that Joe has been consulting with divorce lawyers in Los Angeles and is preparing divorce documents. A few weeks ago, he was seen in public without his wedding ring, although he still had it on in an Instagram photo posted yesterday.
While representatives for Joe Jonas did not immediately respond to inquiries, representatives for Sophie Turner declined to comment.
